Our beloved model for the gift!
A few weeks ago while I was reading online, an ad popped up for a company called Two Worlds that makes a custom book titled, If Famous Artists Painted Your Pet. The company turns photos of your dog into famous portraits by 12 different artists and compiles them into a hardcover book. I was skeptical at first, but thought it would be worth a try!
When I began the process, I uploaded 12-15 good photos of our dog that included images featuring her front and side, as well as a few full body photos. After doing so, they emailed me a draft of the book within a few hours. The email went to my Spam folder, but they had warned me of that possibility..
When I opened the book draft, I was delighted to find that the company had actually created three different images for each artist including Michelangelo, Van Gogh, Picasso, and others.
My kids and I had fun with this part of the process as we were able to pick out all of our favorites. We laughed seeing the images for the first time and I instantly knew my husband, a dog and art lover, would too! We presented the book to my husband on Father’s Day and we were right! Our family had not laughed together that hard for a long time!
The total cost was around $60 to have the book printed and shipped. I was pleased with the quality and happily surprised to discover that the book included other pieces of art by each artist on the opposite page, sharing details about their life and work. In addition, the company offers the option of ordering individual prints of your favorite images! My husband already has one picked out to frame for his office. I am definitely keeping that in mind as a possible Christmas gift!
If you know a pet lover or an art lover who might need a smile or a pick me up, this unique gift certainly fits the bill. Also, as always, this review is completely my own. I happened to stumble upon this company by chance and thought it was too much fun not to share.
