Taking a meal to someone is already such a thoughtful thing to do, but I’ve found that the way you package it can make it feel even more intentional and special!

None of this has to be complicated or over the top. These are just a few easy things I’ve been doing lately that make everything feel a little more put together when you’re dropping something off.

I always grab the sturdier aluminum pans with lids from the grocery store (usually near the baking aisle) or from Amazon. They hold up so much better in the car and just feel nicer to hand off than the flimsy ones.

I like to keep a few basics on hand like parchment paper, twine, labels, and simple containers. Nothing fancy, but it makes it so easy to pull everything together quickly without thinking too much about it. For pastries, I love wrapping a simple ribbon around the container to make it feel a little more special, and I always add a label to all the dishes included so everything is clearly marked.

If you’re bringing flowers, I wrap the stems in a damp paper towel and a little plastic wrap, then lay them on kraft paper and fold it up. Tie with twine and you’re done. It takes a little bit of extra time but looks really nice!

If I’m dropping off coffee, drinks, or even cookies or flowers, I’ll use a cardboard drink carrier to hold everything. It keeps it from sliding around and makes it feel a little more like a “set” instead of random items.

If I’m carrying multiple dishes, I almost always use one of the Take Them A Meal totes, either the single or double. It makes everything easier to carry and keeps things together so you’re not juggling containers on the way to the door.
