Last December, I shared a winter bucket list focused on caring for others, and so many of you loved it. With summer here, I thought it would be fun to revisit the idea.

As I started thinking about summer bucket lists, a few ideas for caring for others came to mind. Here are five simple ideas you can add to your summer bucket list this year.

Drop Coffee Off for a Caregiver

Caregivers spend so much time taking care of others that it’s easy for their own needs to fall to the bottom of the list. A simple coffee delivery can remind them they’re not carrying everything alone.

Leave an Encouraging Note and Flowers on a Friend's Doorstep

Flowers are such a simple way to brighten someone's day. I especially love doorstep drop-offs because there's no pressure for the recipient to invite you in or have a conversation, especially if they're walking through a difficult or busy season of life. It's a quiet way for you to say, "I'm thinking about you."

Pack a Picnic for a Mom and Her Little Ones

Summer is fun, but having the kids home all day can feel a little overwhelming at times. Packing a picnic gives mom one less thing to think about and creates an easy excuse to get everyone outside.

I recently put together this simple lunch idea that would work great for a picnic. You could also include bubbles, sidewalk chalk, or another fun outdoor activity for the kids!

Do a Grocery Run for Someone Home from the Hospital

Coming home from the hospital doesn't always mean life is back to normal. A quick grocery run can save someone a trip out of the house and allow them to focus on resting and recovering.

If you're not nearby, services like Instacart or DoorDash can make this easy too. We also offer delicious, fully prepared meals that can be shipped directly to your friends and family!

Invite Someone Grieving for an Afternoon Walk

When someone is grieving, it can be hard to find the motivation to leave the house. An afternoon walk gives them space to talk if they want to, or simply enjoy some company and fresh air.

If you aren't nearby, I've included a few simple text messages below that you can send to someone who may be struggling.
