As the week winds down, I wanted to share a little light with you. I’ve been trying to slow down and pay attention to the small good things lately. A few things that made me smile, got me excited for spring, or just felt comforting. Nothing big, just simple reminders that brighter days are coming!

Spring is officially 48 days away, and that little fact alone feels like something to hold onto. Longer days, fresh air, blooming flowers, and more time spent outside are closer than they seem! So to get you excited about spring, I’m sharing a popular recipe we shared last spring that was a hit! But this dish is really delicious for any time of the year!

One of my favorite accounts to follow on social media is Upworthy. When I looked up how to describe the account, it was summed up as a media page dedicated to sharing uplifting, heartwarming, and positive content designed to restore faith in humanity. And honestly, that couldn’t be more true! If you ever need a little pick-me-up, a scroll through their page is sure to make you smile. This is one of my favorite posts they recently put out.

Our local library was giving away free magazines, and I couldn’t resist grabbing a CountryLiving issue. It was so fun to flip through and made me excited for warmer weather! There were so many light, fresh recipes! I even cut a few out to try myself and thought I’d share them with you, too. Below are three I’m excited to try:

Music has a way of lifting the mood when days feel slow or heavy, and that’s especially true for me and my family. Last week, while we were snowed in, I found this feel-good playlist and had it playing all day. It’s soft, happy, and comforting in the best way. I highly recommend putting on your favorite music on a tough day or sending a feel-good song to a friend who might need a pick-me-up.

One of the simplest ways I’ve found to feel better is to care for someone else. Making an extra meal and sharing it creates connection, comfort, and joy on both sides. We recently shared a great series from a wonderful influencer, Molly, who does a Make One, Take One series featuring meals you can easily double. One for your family and one to share with someone who could use a little love. Caring for others in small, intentional ways really does make a difference.
